This is my concept image of the Koth Box. I have already created it, I will upload images of the Koth Box soon. But I wanted to share the concept with you guy to get your feedback. (I hope we get to test it out this weekend!)
This box was made for "king of the hill" game types, hence KOTH box. The one I created is designed to work well with laser skirmish using a timer to coincide with a timed game. The idea stems from xbox, PC games we all have played for years, most have some sort of "king of the hill" game type. This box is made to work similar to two king of the hill game types - Zone capture & Zone occupy. The goal for both game type is to have the most time at the end game. Becasue the koth box has a master timer, it will stop at the end of the game. The clocks only move forward, but only one clock will work at a time. At the end of a match we will use the Odin box to get team scores. Then, we will add a point for each second a team holds a zone. In a twenty five minute game that allows for 1800 points.
The first type is switch style of game, (Game Type A) where the 2 teams try to secure the box and move the switch into their team position. They then can defend the box. If the other team clears out the team holding the box, they can move in and change the switch so it starts gaining time for their team. The basic idea is you capture the zone. Then can move on or defend. Zone capture
The other game type is a push button game, (Game Type B) A team member must remain to hold the button down to gain time on their team clock. Retaining that someone has to stay to occupy the zone. As long as they are holding down their team button they be gaining time. The basic idea that is someone always have to stay in the zone in order to gain time. Zone occupy

Most parts came from Radio Shack, I picked up the timer at Lowes. I have been playing every weekend with Jeremy at terranovatactical.com (The site is not up yet) He has 12 guns setup using the Frag Tag electronics. So creating a timed game is very easy. If we set the game to be 25 minutes with a 5 min. wait period, we set the "game timer" to 30 minutes at the same time when the game is being activated from the Odin Master Controller. The timer and "Game type selection switch" are located in an enclosure that is in the back of the koth box, that way teams can't access it during a game. After the game has been activated from the Odin box, We would close the back enclosure, and mount it back on the tree, or post. The clocks are detached and mounted on a small piece of plywood, above the koth box attached by two wires. I hope to add 2 leds to them to indicate from a distance what team's clock is activated. But one step at a time!
I feel extra nerdy now, but I wanted to create something to enhance one of the best tactical game experiences I have taken part of! I know this is my first post, I hope you guys comment on my strange creation.
